Surgery packages

What self-pay surgery costs

One number, quoted before you commit. You'll know the full cost at your consultation, in writing.

Most Chosen

Gastric Sleeve

$14,000
complete self-pay package

About 80% of the stomach is removed, leaving a narrow pouch. Done robotically through a few small incisions, with one night in the hospital and most patients back at work inside a week.

Best for Diabetes & Reflux

Gastric Bypass

$23,000
complete self-pay package

A small stomach pouch plus rerouted small intestine. The stronger choice for type 2 diabetes, severe acid reflux, or a higher starting BMI. Revision procedures are quoted individually.

What the package covers

  • Surgeon, anesthesia, and facility fees
  • All surgical care from admission to discharge
  • Your hospital stay
  • Every post-op visit with Dr. El Djouzi for 6 months
  • Nutritionist consultations
  • Support sessions and our private patient group

Financing. We work with MD Save, a third-party financing partner, if you'd rather pay over time than up front. Approval runs through them.

Who chooses this

Self-pay makes sense when

1

No insurance at all

You're uninsured, or between plans, and you don't want to wait for coverage you may never get.

2

Your plan excludes bariatric

Plenty of employer plans carve out weight loss surgery entirely. Self-pay is the way around that exclusion.

3

You were denied

A quarter of patients get denied three times before approval. If you're tired of appeals, you can pay and move.

4

You want it done sooner

Insurance approval runs one to two weeks, longer if a supervised diet is required first. Self-pay skips that queue.

How it works

Four steps, start to surgery

1

Book a consultation

Meet Dr. El Djouzi, usually within 48 hours. He reviews your history, your BMI, and what you want out of surgery, then tells you which procedure fits.

2

Pay for your visit above

Use the First-Time Consultation button. Existing patients use the Follow-Up button. Payment runs through Stripe.

3

Complete your testing and clearances

Labs, imaging, and any specialist clearances. Your insurance can often cover this part even when it excludes the surgery itself.

4

Pay the package and schedule surgery

One price, paid before your date. MD Save financing is available if you'd rather spread it out.

Questions

Self-pay, answered

Which procedures are available as self-pay?

Gastric sleeve, Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, and several revision procedures. If you're not sure which one fits, Dr. El Djouzi will tell you at your consultation.

Do I qualify for self-pay surgery?

You need a BMI of 30 or higher with an obesity-related health problem, no contraindication to anesthesia or abdominal surgery, and a real commitment to the post-op plan and follow-up visits.

Are there hidden costs after surgery?

No. Every post-op appointment with Dr. El Djouzi in the first six months is covered by the surgery fee. You won't get a separate bill for those visits.

Can I use my insurance for any part of this?

Yes. Even when a plan excludes bariatric surgery, it will often still pay for the pre-op tests and specialist clearances. Use it where you can.

How long is recovery?

Most patients stay one night in the hospital and are back at work within a week.

What support do I get afterward?

Follow-ups with the medical team, nutritionist consultations, regular support sessions, and access to our private patient Facebook group.

Is financing available?

Yes, through MD Save. They're a third-party financing partner and approval depends on their criteria, not ours.

Is my card information safe?

Payments run through Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and are encrypted in transit. We never see or store your card number.

Want your number in writing?

Book a virtual consultation with Dr. El Djouzi, typically within 48 hours. He'll tell you which procedure fits and exactly what it costs before you commit to anything.

Package pricing applies to standard, uncomplicated cases and is confirmed at your consultation. Revision procedures are quoted individually. Prices do not include pre-operative testing, specialist clearances, or treatment of unrelated conditions. Payments on this page are processed by Stripe.
